Signs You’re Carrying Energy That Isn’t Yours
People arrive in my room and say a version of the same sentence: nothing is wrong, and I feel terrible. Their life looks fine on paper. The heaviness does not match the facts. That mismatch is the thing worth paying attention to, and it is usually the sign that some of what you are carrying was never yours to begin with.
You are fine alone and heavy around certain people
Notice where the weight arrives. If you feel steady on your own and flattened within ten minutes of a particular person, that is information. Some people hand you their day without meaning to. They are not villains and they are usually not aware of it. But you walk out carrying it, and then you wonder all evening why you are in a mood you cannot explain.
A room changes you at the door
Certain houses, certain offices, certain rooms do this. You cross the threshold and something in your chest tightens before anyone has spoken. Old buildings hold a great deal. So do rooms where the same argument has happened for years. You do not have to believe anything unusual to take this seriously — you only have to notice that your body reacted before your mind had a reason.
Sleep stops doing its job
This is the one I hear most. You are not lying awake with a specific worry. You are waking at the same hour for no reason, or sleeping eight hours and surfacing as tired as you went down. Rest that does not restore is one of the clearest signals that something is being carried rather than processed.
You are braced and you did not notice
Ask yourself, right now, whether your shoulders are up. Whether your jaw is tight. Most people who come to me for a cleansing have been holding a defensive posture so long that it reads to them as normal. They only discover it when it goes — and then they say the same thing everyone says: I did not know I was doing that.
Before anything else — rule out the ordinary
I am going to say the unglamorous thing, because a reader who will not say it is not looking after you. Persistent exhaustion, sleep that does not restore, a mood that has sat on you for months — these have medical explanations far more often than they have spiritual ones. Thyroid, anemia, sleep apnea, depression. See a doctor first. If something in your body is the cause, no amount of clearing will fix it, and I would be taking your money to delay you.
What I work with is what remains after that — the heaviness with no physical answer, the weight that arrived at a specific time, the sense of being followed by something you cannot name.
Putting it down
A great deal of this you can do yourself, and I would rather tell you than sell you. Notice which people and which rooms cost you something, and stop pretending they do not. Put actual distance where you can. Get outside; moving water and open air genuinely help, and we are fortunate in where we live. Say aloud what you are carrying, to someone or to no one — naming a thing loosens its hold more than people expect.
When that is not enough, that is what I am for. A cleansing is not theater and it is not done to an enemy — I have written separately about what it actually involves. It is a deliberate hour spent setting down what you have been carrying for someone else.
If you recognize yourself here, call me. Your first question is free, and you are welcome to ask before you commit to anything.
